Relief of an Upholstered Chesterfield Sofa:
"The interface between two and three dimensions, an example of this intriguing interplay exists in Rodney Harris' Chesterfield Relief, whereby plane and form switch roles. Condensed carving has foreshortened a whole sofa into several inches; a visual slight of hand that has parallels in the incongruity of a sofa lounging in the landscaped gardens."
